Ann Cornwell was born in Scotland and migrated to the American Colonies, probably with kinsmen. She married James Collie(I) and they lived in the colony of Virginia. They had one known son, William Silas Collie, Sr. There were probably other children. She and James were deceased before the American Revolution but were most likely aware of the unrest over taxation by the mother country, England.
