George is a son of Nathaniel Franklin Uptegrove & wife (2) Martha Faulden who were married in 1847 Carroll Co., Tn. George grew up in Yalobusha & Grenada Counties in MS before coming with the family to AR about the year 1884. George marries Eliza Jane Lankford / Langford in Grenada Co., MS. George is also listed as marrying someone before Eliza Jane in the same county. George W. Uptegrove is living next door to the William H. McKeever family in the 1900 AR census. George's daughter Cora later marries William's son James. George died in either Ashley or Drew Co., AR. Many people say that George's middle name is Washington but I have not found documentation with his middle name.
