Nicholas Darnall Will
In the name of God Amen, I Nicholas Darnall Sr., of the County of Henry and State of Tennessee
do make ordain and declare this instrument which is written to be my last will and Testament revoking all others.
Imprimis, All my debts of which there are but few and none of magnitude, are to be punctually paid, and legacies hereafter bequeathed,

are to be discharged as soon as circumstances will permit in the manner directed.
Item 2. To my dearly beloved wife, Sealy Darnall, I give and bequeath three hundred dollars Tennessee bank bills, and a horse to be valued at sixty dollars, and her saddle, and a cow and calf and two ewes, and a sow and pigs, and a trunk and loom and wheel and cards, and a bed and furniture and a table.
Item 3. I give and bequeath unto my beloved son, William Darnall one negro girl, named Sharlot, to him and his heirs forever.
Item 4. I give and bequeath to my beloved son, Thomas Darnall, one negro boy, named Henry, to him and his heirs forever.
Item 5. I give and bequeath unto my beloved daughter, Patsey Melone, a negro girl, named Silvey, to her and her heirs forever.
Item 6. I give and bequeath unto my beloved son, Nicholas Darnall Jr., two negro boys, named Isham and Drew, to him and his heirs forever.
Item 7. I give and bequeath to my daughter, Susannah Logan, one negro woman named Kis, and her two children, Willis and Sam, to her and her heirs forever.
Item 8. I give and bequeath to my daughter, Nancy Ingram, one negro woman named Nan, and her two children, Reuben and Lewis, to her and her heirs forever.
Item 9.* I give and bequeath to my beloved son, Henry Darnall, one negro man named Bill, to him and his heirs forever.
Item 10. I give and bequeath unto my daughter, Lucy Bone, two negroes, named Joseph and Beck, to her and her heirs forever.
Item 11. All the rest and residue of my estate, real and personal, not disposed of in manner aforesaid, in whatsoever consisting, I desire may be sold by my executors and equally divided between my above named children, and also my sons, James Darnall and Benjamin Darnall.
Lastly, I constitute and appoint my beloved sons William Darnall and Nicholas Darnall,
executors of this my last will & testament.
In witness of all and each of the things here in contained, I have set my hand and seal this 18th
day of August 1823 in the year eighteen hundred and twenty three.

Record of Bondage
William Darnall, Executor's Bond. Recorded 30th March 1824.
Know all men by these presents that we William Darnall, Nicholas Darnall, Joseph Skaggs, Jesse C. Gainer, Henry Darnall, Robert Swor and Levi Bone, all of the County of Henry and the State of Tennessee, are held and firmly bound unto William Carroll, Governor, in and over the State of Tennessee in the sum of five thousand dollars, to be paid to the said Governor and his successors in office, to which payment will and truly to be made we bind (?)ary over heirs execution of administrators jointly (?) firmly by these presents Sealed with our Seals and dated this 1st day of December 1823.
The bondsman of the above obligation is such that if the above bondsmen Wm. Darnall and Nicholas Darnall executors of the last will and testament of Nicholas Darnall, decd, do make or cause to be made a true and perfect inventory of all and singular the goods of said decd. which have or shall come into the hands, possession or knowledges of this the said Wm and Nicholas Darnall or into the hands and possession of any other person or persons for them and the same so made do exhibit to this Court within ninety days after the date of these presents and further do make or cause to be made a true and just account of their said executorship within two years from the date of these presents and all the rest and residue of the said good and
(?) and (?) which shall be found remaining upon the said executors account, the same being for examined and which of by the Court shall deliver and pay unto such person or persons respectively as the same shall be due
unto person and to the true intent of meaning of the acts in such case made and proved then the above obligation to be void else to remain in full force and effect. In testimony whereof we have hereunto set our hands of Seals this day and year above written.

The Son Thomas took up land in Warren Co KY on the same day in 1799 as
did Nicholas. Later William Darnall, a son or grandson, came and took up
land in Warren Co KY on 3-5-1810 and ANDERSON DARNALL came and took up 400 acres of land in Warren co on 1-13-1813. Some of this family, for reasons unknown, changed the name to DURNELL.
It shows this to be the information concerning the will of Nicholas Darnall b ca 1738 in Spotsylvania Co VA. m Susanna Howlett.
