  - most info obtained from the book 'The Bartletts, Ancestral, genealogical, biographical, historical. - Comprising an account of the American progenitors of the Bartlett family, with special reference to the - descendants of John Bartlett, of Weymouth and Cumberland - by Thomas Edward Bartlett - published 1892 - bef 1666 - John and Sarah were in Weymouth, MA - by 1671 he had removed to Mendon, MA and was there in 1679 7 1682 - 6/6/1682 bought land in Senechetaconnet, which at that time was in the town of Rehoboth and under the jurisdiction of the Plymouth Colony, - but now known as Manville in the town of Cumberland in the state of RI where he died 8/17/1684 & Sarah, his wife, died the following 1/1684/85 - 6/6/1683 - Plymouth Colony - John Bartlett of Rehoboth, RI took the oath - 8/17/1684 - John Bartlett buried - 1/17/1684/85 - Sarah, wife of John Bartlett, buried - after John's death, Sarah petitioned the court for letters of Admin., but before they reached her , she died - 3/5/1684/85 - the case was again taken under advisement - the worshipful Mr. Daniel Smith to select men to administer the estate & take care of the orphans - 3/19/1684/85 - John Bartlett & Mary Aldrich made oath to the inventory before Daniel Smith, Assist. - 1/2/1698/99 - the estate was held in trust by the proprietors until 1698, at which time the children, except Noah & Daniel, not then of age, signed an agreement - for the distribution of the property, which was bought by their elder brother John Bartlett - signed Samuel Bartlett, Moses Bartlett, Jacob Bartlett, - Valentine Whitman and Sarah Whitman, his wife, and Mary Bartlett - ** See Misc-Docs-Pics/Aldrich ** - info from Settlers of the Beekman Patent p.112-113 - most of it from The George Aldrich Genealogy by Alvin James Aldrich ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Found at findagrave.com on 6/5/2021 John Bartlett Birth: Apr 1644 Dorchester, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, USA ?? not England?
