Capt. Chapman is noted as the founder of Princeton in Cockrum's "Pioneer History of Indiana," coming from Warren County, KY, to the Hoosier state as a prospector in 1814. Ms. Chapman wed Daniel Mills, of the pioneer family from Kennebec County, ME, on 7 Nov 1823. She bore him 10 children before his untimely death in 1846. Eight years later, she married a Mr. James P. Dillon, of whom very little is known. By 1880, she was again a widow and living with her daughter, Margery, in Princeton. She died nine years later at the age of 84. There is a nice piece written on them and the location of their farm in Stormont's "History of Gibson County" (see p.290, "The Old Crossway to Kirk's Mill.").
