Notes for Thomas DERRYBERRY
Biography
The 1830 census shows a Thomas Der[ry]berry listed in Perry Co., TN on the same page as Andrew and his son Michael C.,
and so Thomas is assumed to have been another son of Andrew's. Thomas was age 15-20 in 1830, and had 7 females in the
household, ranging in age from 0-5 to 30-40. There were no other males in the household, so Thomas's age was probably
on the high side of that range. Thomas is not mentioned in any later records, including the 1837 tax list that
mentions Andrew and Michael, and so Thomas is assumed to have died before then.
It is unclear whether he was married in 1830, but it is possible that one of the women in the household age 20-30 was
his wife, and that the girl age 0-5 was a young daughter. However, no candidate descendants have been identified.

[Same page as Andrew and M. C. Derberry. The identities of the women in this household are currently unknown.
However, two of the three females age 10-15 here may correspond to two girls under 10 in Andrew's household in 1820.
The two older women here have no correspondence with the 1820 entry for Andrew.]
The woman J. J. Derryberry, born about 1810, and found in the 1860 census in Decaturville, could have been a widow of
Thomas, but there is no evidence one way or the other, since marital status was not marked on the censuses at that
time. She could also have been one of his sisters.
