Isaac Hibbs, Sr. was born Abt. 1740, and died in Nelson Co., Kentucky. He married Elizabeth Roberts December 22, 1763 in Churchville, Bucks Co., Pennsylvania. She was born Abt. 1742 in New Jersey, and died Abt. 1813.

Hello! I have already learned that I will enjoy this list tremendously!
My husband is from Kentucky, born in Hodgenville, raised in Elizabethtown.
His Hibbs came into early Nelson Co, KY.
Isaac HIBBS, b; abt 1740 in Bucks Co., PA and d/ 1813 in Nelson Co., KY.
He m/ Elizabeth ROBERTS in the Low Dutch Church of North and South Hampton
(now the Presbyterian church of Churchville, Bucks, PA) Isaac was disowned
by the Quakers for marrying a German "Dutch" girl. It appears he made the
break then from the Quaker Church as he is not found listed in Quaker
records from then on. Apparently isaac left PA with his wife and some of
his brothers in to VA where he settled briefly in Loudon Co then to Bedford
Co. In Dec of 1791 he moved to Nelson Co., KY, following his daughter
Rachel who had m/ Nicholas Osburn. They had moved to Nelsvon Co., Ky in
1788.
Among other children, Isaac had a son John H. Hibbs who was b/ abt 1791 in
VA, probably Bedford Co. He m/ Sarah (Sally) Hibbs, 4 Nov 1813 in Hardin
Co., KY. I believe John died in Hopkins Co., KY as in 1860 census page
203-4 Household 1388/family#1388 Sarah is living in the household of James
A. Hibbs, their son. John is found nowhere else in records, so it is
assumed he is dead by then.
Sarah (Sally) is the daughter of John Hibbs b/ 1775-1794 and Christina ?.
I believe John d/ bef 15 Aug 1818 probably in Hardin Co., KY. John had
begun a land transaction with Ralph Stovall prior to Aug 15, 1818. At that
time a deed was written from Stovall tot he children and heirs of John
Hibbs, dec'd. It is possible he died between 27 jul 1816 and the above
date. In the margin of Deed Book F, page 32 in written the following
notation: "Exam'd & delivered to John Hibbs per order." This note is
written beside a deed from Reuben Kemp and his wife Patty to William
Patterson. However it is unclear exactly which John Hibbs this refers to.
In 1800 one John Hibbs paid taxes in Nelson Co., Ky. . In 1810 census,
one Christiana Hibbs is listed as head of household, but there is a male,
in her same age category in the
household. I wonder if this might have been John, and he an invalid,
injured or something.
This John and his wife Christiana are an enigma. I've been unable to find
anything about either of them. I've been able to trace the lineage of
theother Hibbs line easily, but this, this has me stumped. Any one know
anything about them?
