My mother-in-law is a direct Hill descendant. Byrd was the son of Rev. Allen
Hill and Sarah Garrett. My best guess for the reason that Louisa died and is
buried in Holly Springs, Marshall Co., MS is the family was visiting Byrd's
brother John "Jack" Garrett Hill, Sr. and his family when Louisa became ill.
After the signing of a treaty with the Chickasaw Indians which moved the
Indians to Oklahoma and opened sections in North Mississippi to settlement
(about 1837), John G. Hill moved his family to Marshall County, Mississippi
near Holly Springs in the Wesley Chapel neighborhood. ~Carolyn Menges, San

River, Davidson Co., TN, and died September 28, 1872 in Memphis, Shelby Co.,
TN. He married Louisa A. Eddins/Eddings June 15, 1830 in Madison Co., TN,
daughter of John Eddins/Eddings and Mary Lipscomb. She was born May 17, 1811
in Madison Co., TN, and died March 18, 1843 in Holly Springs, MS.
