A U.S. Navy veteran, Mr. Downs was a retired surveying engineer and a member of T.L. Jefferson Masonic Lodge No. 622 in Benton. Surviving is one brother, Boyce Downs of Maidens, Va. Father of four children from marriage to Dalal Baydoun Downs, including Mary Lee, whos ashes were scattered at his gravesite in 2019. He was preceded in death by one brother. His parents were Howell Downs and Wilmoth Travis Downs. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Marshall County Memory Gardens. There will be no visitation.
