Kentucky, to Powells Run, in 1804, with her family well begun. She died 10 July 1849, at the "Old Brick", and was buried nearby.
Margaret Osborne was the daughter of John Osborne and Rachel Mead, from Loudoun Co, Virginia.

(2) Rev. Matthew Meade of Stepney, London (1629-16 October 1699) Leighton, Buzzard, Bedfordshire. Imprisoned for Conspiracy. The Rye House Conspiracy was a half-hearted plan to assassinate Charles II and James (II) at the Rye House, Huddesdon, Hertfordshire. The Earl of Shaftsbury blamed Arthur, Earl of Essex, Lord Russell and Algernon Sidney. Rev Matthew Meade was imprisoned and later freed by the King.
(?) William Mead (1628-1713) linnen draper of London and William Penn were imprisoned in 1670 at the "Old Bailywyck", London, as a result of the Quaker Trials, following arrest at the Grace Church Street Meeting. There may be some family connection between all of the Meads who are also Quaker . (?)
(3) William Meade, of fifteen children, emigrated to America. brother Richard Mead, [is there a connection to Nathaniel Mead who was Surgeon to Queen Anne ? ]
(4) John Mead wed Mary Abrell d/o Richard Abrell or Abrahall of Cecil Co. Md, who moved to Prince William before 1733.
(5) William Mead junr - s/o Wm senr, has brothers, Samuel senr & John Mead of Pennsylvania - wed Ellen Worrell.
(5) Samuel Mead senr - Joined Lawrence Washington's Unit in the War with Spain 1730, which was not in tune with the Quaker peacefulness, making him a "flawed Quaker". Samuel Mead wed Mary Downy at Falls Meeting, Bucks Co., Pennsylvania on 25 September 1737, and removed to Fairfax Co., Virginia cir 1740. [ Mary Downey is a H5 mtDNA type] Samuel Mead was a Quaker, as were his close kin, William and John Mead, and the Quaker records is the source of this family history. The marriage listed below seems to be a "kissin cousins" wedding.
3 Oct. 1746 - Margaret Mead condemned, marriage contrary to discipline.
2 Jul. 1747 - Margaret Mead granted certificate to marry. Fairfax, Va.
Samuel Mead sr, formally of Falls Monthly Meeting, Pennsylvania, now a member of Goose Creek Quarterly Meeting, (established 30 Aug. 1745, now at Lincoln, VA) in Loudoun Co., 28 April 1759, was disowned, disunity, as he appeared to some degree a Friend (Quaker) but his conduct has been inconsistent with Friend's principles.
(5) Margaret, Wife of Samuel Mead, received on Certificate from Falls Monthly Meeting dated 2 July 1747 on 30 Aug. 1747. A committee inquires as to how Margaret Mead stands clear on her daughter going out in marriage, 29 April 1758. As of 29 July 1758, Margaret Mead stands clear on her daughter's marriage out of unity.
(6) Rachel Mead, daughter of Samuel Mead and Margaret Mead reported at the Loudoun Co. Quakers Meeting that she was leaving clandestinely with a young man {John Osborne} apprenticed to her father, married out of unity, disowned, 21 November 1764 .

JOHN OSBORNE
The Osborne family had been located in Stafford for some years. A Richard Osborne had been appointed as County Commissioner to the new Prince William County in November 1731 by Governor Gooch. A Thomes Osborne represented Prince William in the House of Burgesses in ______. We have evidence leading to John.
John Osborn (Osborne, Osbourne, Osburn) has been traced to the will of John Osborn senr, which was probated in Loudoun Co, Va, on 8 January 1787. John Osborn senr is believed to be the son of Richard Osborn. Sarah Morris, consort of John senr, is believed to be the daughter of Thomas Morris and his wife, Ann Howard. John Osborn senr was born cir 1712, and died in December 1786. Sarah Morris was born cir 1719 and died in March 1804, and both are buried in the Ketoctin Baptist Cemetery in Loudoun Co, Va. John Osborn junr was born cir 1741, and was believed to have eventually moved to Kentucky, although I would have doubted his leaving Bedford Co, Va. Eury Thurman Hedges, identified her grandparents as John Osborn and Rachel Mead, in the 1880s, with no additional data. I surmise that Rachel Mead was born cir 1740-1750, and died in Bedford Co, Va.
