Sep 29, 1773 from Thomas Collins of Albemarle County, Virginia, planter, eldest son of Anthony Collins of CC, planter, decd, to John Maddox of CC, planter, for 10 £ part of a tract of land called Partners Content, lying in CC, containing "three hundred seventy and acres" patented to Luke Garner and William Godfrey on Feb 23, 1710, bounded by the head of a branch coming out of the Reedy branch of Chingomuxon Cr, containing about 100 acres. The parcel hereby being sold was, by will was devised to sd Thomas Collins, by sd Anthony Collins, his father, together with the buildings, fencings, and improvements thereon, and the rents, issues, and profits of the same. To have and to hold to sd John Maddox, during the life of sd Thomas Collins. Signed - Thomas (X his mark) Collins. My Collins line goes like this:
James Marion Collins, son of James S. Collins and Hariett Gunter, was b. 30
Jul 1899 Pilot Mtn Township, Surry Co., NC and d. 16 Jan 1960, Ararat,
Surry Co., NC. He m. Mary Etta Lankford b. 1901 Stokes Co., NC d. 1978
Westfield NC. They had 8 children, most still living.
James S. Collins, son of Jeremiah Collins and Martha Bullins, was b. Oct
1885, Peters Creek, Stokes Co., NC and d. 2 Feb 1948 Surry Co., NC. He m.
20 Mar 1886 Stokes Co., NC to Hariett Gunter, dau of Housen Gunter and
Elizabeth Frye. Hariett was b. 26 Aug 1871 Carroll Co., VA and d. 7 Mar
1920 Surry Co., NC. The had 7 children: James Marion, Jesse, Mary Ann,
Ernest, Marion, Lilla, and Cable.
Jeremiah Collins, son of George Anthony Collins and Nancy Lawson, was b.
abt 1820 Stokes Co., NC and d. 1860 Stokes Co., NC. He m. 14 Sep 1840 in
Stokes Co., NC to Martha Bullins dau of James and Fanny (unknown maiden
name) Bullins. Martha ws b. abt 1822 Stokes Co., NC and d. aft 1910.
Jeremiah and Martha had 10 Children: William Beauregane, Mary Ann, James
Sanford, Rufus, Moses F., Sarah Jane, George Washington, Thomas, Mittie
Johnson, and Jettie C..
George Anthony Collins, son of Jeremiah Collins and Heather Unknown, was b.
1795 Stokes Co., NC and m. in 1818 Stokes Co NC to Nancy Lawson, (parents
unknown at this point). George and Nancy had at least one child, Jeremiah.
There may be more,,I just havent gotten that far yet.

Albemarle Co., VA. He d. 1806 Stokes Co., NC.
Thomas C. Collins, son of Anthony Collins and Jane Lancelot, was b. abt 1724
Albemarle Co., VA and d. abt 1791 Albemarle Co., VA. He m. Susannah Wyatt,
(parents unknown) and had 8 children: Thomas, William, Roger, Jeremiah, ****** John??
John, George, Hezekiah, and James.
Anthony Collins, son of Robert Collins and Elizabeth Furlong Bidlake, was b.
4 Jan 1677/78, Anthony Parish , Cornwall, England. He m. 1723 in VA to Jane
Lanacelot (parents unknown). Jane was b. between 1680 and 1690 most likely
in VA and d. abt 1774. Anthony Collins and Jane had 6 children: Thomas, ***** last three??
Winifred, Elizabeth, John, William, and Jeremiah.
Possibly at this time, the name was spelled Collings. It is how it appears
in information on them in England. I can go a little further back,,,if
