James Ferguson III was the son of James Ferguson II and Agnes Adams. James married Mary Lawrence. James was killed at the battle of "Huck's Defeat" at Brattonsville in York Co., SC. He was a Colonel in the British Army (Tory). He probably selected to fight for the Crown because of his business, trading goods with England. Their children were Pleasant, John, James, and Abraham Ferguson.
