      DEED: Cumberland County, Virginia. Deed Book 3, Page 227, dated 23 Nov 1761.

      William Stone "for and in consideration of the sum of one shilling sterling paid by Tabitha Meanly but more especially for the love and good will I bear to the said Tabitha Meanly do by these presents give, grant, bargain and deliver unto the said Tabitha Meanly during her natural life, one negro child, named Cesear, and at her death to her daughter, Fanny, and in case she dies without issue of her body lawfully begotten, then the said negro to belong to her sister, Lucy Meanly, to her and her heirs forever and the said William Stone the gift or sale of the said negro do hereby warrant and forever defend."
