  - died after 11/17/1788 (? see William's notes) and before 5/1789 when William married Susannah Bledsoe 17 Nov. 1788 Deed Book p. 414 -- 5 William Laffoon and wife Sarah to Thomas Burris, for 100 pounds, 150 acres on Stewart"Creek both South and West sides. wit: William Golding, Frost and Snow and Stephen K. Smith. Proven may Term 1789 by Stephen K. Smith. Note that wife Sarah's signature is as follows; "Sarah Mar (her marked )Laffoon". From this signature, some thinks her name was "Sarah Mary", but I believe that it is possible that it was "Sarah Mar"
